DISTRESSED FLOWER

Hi Folks,

The other day i made a flower from greaseproof paper! and everyone thought it looked great, including me!
Tonight i put together the same flower but this time with printed paper, distress ink & mica spray! I hope you like this one equally, i've done this to see how different they both look!

GREASEPROOF FLOWER

Hi Folks,

I was cutting out some diecuts yesterday and have been led to believe that wax paper helps in getting intricate dies to come away from the paper/card etc however, in the U.K wax paper is very hard to come by, so i used what i have been told is the next best thing, 'greaseproof paper' so i asked my lovely John to get me some from the shop.
I used it and it does help, but looking at it, its quite flimsy, just a bit tougher than tissue paper, so i thought i wonder how this would look made into a flower so i got started, cutting, layering, glueing, and scrunching and this is what i came up with, i kinda like it, i think its cute, what d'you think?  Hugs Vick xxx

MY HALF FINISHED STUDIO

Well here is my studio, please excuse the mess as its only half finished and i have lots more in boxes to put in there, but i thought i would give you a preview of what it looks like and how much work i have left to make it ok, which, when i was abled body would take me one day but in my current state of health and mind will take me weeks into the months, so it maybe a long time before you see the finished article, hence this sneaky peek!!! MY NEMESIS

LOL.......Hi Guys,

I'm giggling to myself as i am about to show you my nemesis, the one thing in my studio at this moment in time that has not been used by me and only used once in its whole history and that definitely wasn't me, it was my John.....he's a dab hand with what i'm about to show you but only went on it to show me how........scared isnt the word, im petrified of breaking it? I don't know and i can't explain it, but the fact that i am paying attention to it must be a good sign, right? So here 'he' is Captain Brother, lol!!!

This machine is brand spanking new!! I've had it over 5 years, but its new, ive never used it, its computerised with 60 lovely stitches on board!! All my adult life i wanted a sewing machine and i was never in the position to be allowed one, then, i met John, we married and he bought me this lil beauty and instead of getting stuck in there and having a go! I clammed up and havent been able to learn on it, or even switch it on! John did that for me too, this is a man who has in the past made full sets of velvet curtains, tie backs, valances, and blinds, and here's me can't even practice on an old sheet!!
Recently i got a studio as my son finally left home and left me with a little box room so i took it, due to my disabilities i cannot stand up too long and definitely can't lift anything heavy, so i had to wait to utilise it, but my John put up shelves, built shelving units and cupboard space and generally provided somewhere for me to craft, it isn't massive but its mine, all mine!!! I havent finished it yet, when i do, i will take pics and a video as promised, as i am one of those too..........the nosey crafter who loves nothing better than to have a nose around other crafters studios, lol, cant help it, im human!!! so shoot me!!
Anyway, i figured, looking at the Captain last night, that i would 'have a go' take it easy and do some stitching on my cards, and then progress to an apron to protect my clothes when im painting,( i paint, oils on canvas)  inking and spritzing.....maybe a cushion cover and then maybe even a set of shabby chic curtains for the bedroom............who knows, wish me luck, Captain i'm coming after you!!!!LOL.....be afraid....be very afraid!!

LADYBUG CRAFTS CHALLENGE BLOG LAUNCH

How's your Saturday treating ya? Well, i'm up and at 'em, dog watching as John has gone out to pick up our neighbours from their holiday, they don't drive! SATURATED CANARY YOUTUBE LAUNCH

Well the day is here, the Saturated Canary Youtube channel has been launched and to kick off launch week we have the owner and artist Krista Smith who is hosting the first video of the week, with my video being posted tomorrow (Sun).  For each day,  for the first week Sept 1st-7th each designer in the team will post a video tutorial showing you a technique and/or project using one or more S.C stamps. A BRAIDED BOOKMARK

Hi Guys,

I made a bookmark last night just whilst watching tv, of what i think would look lovely with a white bible for a childs first Holy Communion or Christening. Or even as a small Christmas gift for a friend as i have threaded on an angel, i just thought it was a nice touch, i will make more with different things attached but as i was braiding with white satin ribbon, so i thought the angel was a nice touch.  When i did my 'Vick's Rosetrim Butterflies' video, i showed a braided ribbon that you could use for the butterflies body and said i would show you how to braid it, via a video, so i wanted to do another item from braided ribbon, hence the bookmark, so, over the next few days i will be posting a video showing you how to make it.  Here are a couple of pics below for you to see hope you like the idea, hugs Vick xxx

13 sets of dies, all new from the U.S (CHA) It shows 14 sets in the pic, you buy 13 and they send 1 set free, which in this pic is the Christmas baubles down in the right hand corner, but i didn't buy any Christmas die sets, although the free one will be a Christmas set but not necessarily the one in the pic, im hoping for snowflakes as i have none, but i will let you know when they arrive and i do a video and pics of my haul!!

Hello there my crafty friends,

I thought i would show you a lovely embellishment i made for me to use on projects! You may have seen them before, if you have you'll know how to make them, if not read on..........

I will show you my pics here now, but will do a video at the weekend on how to make these beauties yourself as they are mighty expensive to buy as they are, so look out for the link post on here...........and what's more, they are easy peasy lemon squeezy......You may have noticed that i'm all for making my own embellishments if i can, i love, for example,  Prima embellishments like anyone else but am working out ways to make their butterflies and flowers, and i have, so i will do some videos on the things i have made, that i think you will love and they are such a money saver too, so.....they look good and are inexpensive, can't be bad huh? FOR LIBBY!

Hi Guys,

Sometime ago i made a shabby chic mirror for my mum and posted it on here, i added some flowers that i had made from my recycled suede skirts! I have also added them to my cards and other projects. Since then many of my friends have asked how i have made them and i've told them they are dead easy a child could make them, and a child wanted to make them, hence my title!!! I have a friend on Youtube, Sue, and herself and her grand-daughter Libby watch my videos together, and i thought it would be nice to make the video showing how to make my flowers, however, i promised that months ago. What with my health and my dear brother leaving us i hadn't got round to it, well i thought the time is right now, that girl has some patience, i can tell ya, more than i have anyways, lol........ok so here is my video and its in two parts which are both uploaded now, so if you want to have a shufty at them i would be very grateful, and if you can leave me a comment on there (YT) on here (my blog) or FB so i know you've visited me and i can say hi !!! THE 'NO STRESS' CARD..........

Hey Gang,

This following card wasnt made for any reason and i have found that these cards sometimes make the better card and are more enjoable to make, as you havent got a recipient in mind therefore, some of the stress of making a card for someone is not there! I don't know about you but when i have to make a card for someone or a design card for a company i stress out over it and i really should learn to chill out, which is why i love doing cards like this, that have noone specific in mind and they are such fun, so without further ado here is my card and i hope you like it, no stress!!!!
